Summit for the Kids: Kilimanjaro 2026

In August 2026, a team of women will take on the challenge of summiting Mount Kilimanjaro—raising both funds and awareness for pediatric patients at Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kenya.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to bring this vision to life: a dedicated pediatric playroom and meaningful enhancements to the children’s ward.
For many children, a hospital stay can be overwhelming and isolating. This project is about creating a space where they can feel safe, find moments of joy, and hold onto a sense of normalcy during an incredibly difficult time.
Every dollar raised goes directly toward improving the experience of these children and their families—supporting not just their medical care, but their emotional well-being.
We invite you to be part of this journey. Your support will help create a more compassionate, healing environment for children who need it most.

Meet Maya!

Hi! My name is Maya. I am a 11th grade student in Vancouver, Canada and I had the privilege of volunteering at Coast General Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya in November 2024. I saw everything from babies being born to patients being treated for all types of diseases under really challenging circumstances.

The thing that stuck with me the most are the conditions on the pediatric ward. Children stay in a big concrete room with no options to play.I think it would be so meaningful to create a playroom on the pediatric ward to give the kids a reason to smile.

I have met with the hospital CEO who supports my plan. We have the design for a play room all ready to go. Please support the children at Coast General Hospital and donate today.
